Help MOAA Name 100 Outstanding Vets From The Last 100 Years

In 1918, representatives of Germany and allied forces brought World War I to an end with the Armistice of Compiègne, Nov. 11, an event we commemorate in the U.S. as Veterans Day.

Military Officer plans to celebrate the centennial of this key moment in military history by highlighting 100 veterans from the past 100 years who all Americans should know - and we're asking for your help to identify them.

We're looking for combat heroes, veterans who've never stopped serving, historic military “firsts,” unsung heroes, and strong leaders, not only from World War I but also throughout the past century.

Need some inspiration? Here are just a few names on our working list: Gunnery Sgt. John Basilone, Gen. Benjamin O. Davis, Gen. James "Jimmy" Doolittle, Gen. Ann E. Dunwoody, retired Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell, Maj. Audie Murphy, Army officer Kristen Griest, Adm. Michelle Howard and Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker.

Submit nominations via email to editor@moaa.org or by mail to MOAA Communications, 201 N. Washington St., Alexandria, VA 22314.
